Engelwood Asset Management S.A. is a CSSF regulated third party AIFM (European Alternative Investment Fund Manager) in Luxembourg.
The team:
As a valued member of the Oversight department, you will join a dynamic team responsible for supervising and monitoring delegated functions related to regulated Alternative Investment Funds. Our mission is to ensure that fund valuation, administration, and reporting activities performed by external providers meet the highest standards of quality, transparency, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in overseeing complex investment strategies, including private equity, private debt, infrastructure, and real estate funds.
Your role:
- Monitor and review the activities of third-party service providers involved in fund valuation, administration and accounting.
- Contribute to the NAV approval process, ensuring that all controls and validations are properly documented and that any exceptions are escalated and resolved.
- Conduct look-through assessments to ensure proper transparency on underlying investments and to support regulatory and investor reporting requirements.
- Perform reconciliation between the fund administrator’s position records and the depositary bank’s records, ensuring data consistency and timely resolution of breaks.
- Review and challenge valuation methodologies and assumptions used by external providers for illiquid or complex assets.
- Perform independent analytical reviews and reasonableness checks on asset valuations and performance data.
- Collaborate with internal teams (valuation, portfolio management, risk, compliance, and operations) to maintain a robust oversight framework.
- Participate in the due diligence of new service providers and in the ongoing monitoring of existing delegates.
- Prepare and maintain oversight reports, dashboards, and KPI/KRI tracking for senior management, fund boards, and regulators.
- Support continuous improvement of oversight procedures, documentation standards, and internal controls.
- Monitor regulatory developments and best practices affecting valuation, transparency, and delegation oversight.
- Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring that all required evidence and follow-ups are properly managed.
- Actively contribute to team meetings and working groups on operational risk, valuation governance, and data quality topics.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration — or equivalent professional experience in fund accounting, NAV control, or depositary operations.
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory (written and spoken); any other European language is an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to control and documentation.
- Ability to challenge constructively and communicate findings clearly and confidently.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
- Rigorous, proactive, curious, and eager to learn within a dynamic and demanding environment.
